The idea for Charlotte Stork Company was sparked when the opportunity to take over the business came at the perfect time. Alexa, the owner, was transitioning out of her career as a crime scene investigator with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) and was eager to spend more time with her family. The stork business felt like a natural fit, combining her love for creativity with her desire to help families celebrate their growing families in a fun and unique way.

Hi, I’m Alexa, the proud owner of Charlotte Stork Company. Originally from New York, I’ve lived in the Midwest and other parts of the South, but I found my true home here in Charlotte, NC. After years of working as a crime scene investigator with CMPD, I made the decision to leave my career in law enforcement to be more present for my growing family. I’m a mom to two beautiful boys and my life revolves around them.
Both of my boys were conceived through IVF, so I know firsthand just how precious and special the journey to parenthood can be. Leaving my career behind wasn’t an easy decision, but it was the right one. I wanted to be there for every milestone, and the idea of starting a business that would allow me to spend more time with my family while also bringing joy to others felt like the perfect fit.
When the opportunity to take over Charlotte Stork Company presented itself, I knew it was meant to be. I’ve always been creative, and I wanted to use that passion to help other families celebrate their babies' arrivals. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing the excitement on a parent's face when they see their personalized stork display in the yard—it’s a moment of joy that stays with them, and I’m honored to be a part of it.
When I’m not working on the business, you’ll find me spending time with my boys, soaking up the sunshine, and enjoying the wonderful things that life in Charlotte has to offer. My family is everything to me, and I’m excited to bring that same warmth and care to every stork display we create.
